Having the most authentically conserved cottages in the best beach and mountain locations in Wales isn’t enough for Dr Greg Stevenson, the architectural historian who directs Under the Thatch
It's one of the reasons that UTT won the Guardian/ Observer Responsible Travel Award against international competition. Greg was one of the first to start the lime revival in building conservation in Wales thirty years ago and has built a curated collection of gorgeous cottages with beautiful furnishings. The most popular properties are those that he restored with conservationist Griff Rhys Jones (as seen on the BBC TV series A Pembrokeshire Farm), but they’ve since branched out to restore a handful of properties in Ireland, Poland and on the continent.
For 20 years we have been restoring, designing and sharing properties that you’ll love in Wales, and beyond.
