Our tin cottage was built in the spring of 1940, most likely to house house members of the Women’s Land Army - young women who came to the countryside to help with the agricultural work as many farmworkers had gone to fight.

Today it has been lovingly restored to its WWII condition (with well integrated mod cons) by Michael and Mary, who live next door.

The cottage is on the edge of a village which has a pub, primary school, village hall and church, all within walking distance across the fields or along quiet roads. A 10-minute drive gets you to Glastonbury, with its Tor and crystal shops and Street, with the retail outlet of Clark’s village. A little further is England’s smallest cathedral city of Wells and the lovely market town of Castle Cary. You can access the Somerset and Dorset beaches in around an hour (nearest is 40 mins).
