The Times - Top Autumn Escapes say:
"Go fly-fishing for salmon and trout on the River Towy or walk the Cambrian Way footpath from this characterful 1850s cottage in the Cambrian Mountains. It has been sympathetically renovated, retaining the original inglenook fireplace and bread oven. Two pretty bedrooms have stripped-back wood floors. Eat at the excellent Towy Bridge Inn nearby."
This delightful 1850's cottage is situated adjacent to a quiet mountain road in the Cambrian Mountains, looking directly out across the Upper Towy Valley.
It was built originally as a worker's cottage on the Cawdor Estate. It has been recently sympathetically renovated to a very high standard using traditional local materials and local craftsmen, and stands enclosed in its own garden of approximately 1/4 acre.
Bwlch Newydd is an ideal location for bird watchers and walkers alike as it looks out onto woodland of the Gwenffrwd-Dinas RSPB Nature Reserve, and stands directly on the Cambrian Way footpath. It is also an ideal site for would-be astronomers as it's in a "Dark Sky" rural area where the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye. Although in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, this cottage lies only 20 miles from Aberaeron on the Ceredigion coast.
