If you've always fancied a holiday on the Breton coast, and enjoy beautiful historic timber-frame architecture, then we have just the place for you. This beautiful townhouse on one of the oldest squares in Morlaix has been restored over many years by our friend Michael (a UK Cathedral stone conservator) and his nephew Tom who is a remarkable craftsman in timber. Michael was responsible for 'our' timber-frame homes in the Limousin (now back as family homes) and spent years renovating and dressing this charming 'colombage' home as he wanted somewhere near to the pristine beaches of North Brittany.
This Morlaix townhouse is full of quirks and charms, and a mixture of antique French furniture and twentieth-century pop art that somehow (oddly) works. You're on a pleasant square near to cafes, and good wine (you are in fact above a boutique wine merchants shop, and you've a small rear terrace that you can open a bottle on), and there's enough beautiful beaches and ancient towns nearby to choose a different one every day. If arriving by ferry then Roscoff is only half an hour up the coast. Neil, the friendly local manager will assist with any query.
