A contemporary home on a hillside overlooking the Atlantic ocean, designed by Keith Makinson RIBA, a retired Transport for London architect.  The house is elevated on stilts over a beautiful piece of granite bedrock worn smooth by centuries of icebergs that rocked into this bay after the last ice age. It is formed around two recycled shipping containers with huge sheets of glazing to enjoy the views.

Completed in 2017, this remarkable villa enjoys tremendous open views over Traighenna Bay. Three large bedrooms (each en-suite) mean that the place can sleep up to 6 in comfort. There are 5 acres of rough mountain land - walk up your own steep land to the top of the hill, or along the quiet road to the shoreline (1km flat walk, 15 mins). 5 minutes in the car (or 3km flat walk) to tremendous sandy beaches including Dooey.  We let it for up to 90 nights a year when the owner is away.

Days out will include beaches, Glenveagh National Park (you can see it from the house) and the dramatic sea cliffs at Slieve League.
